A:That is really a loaded question. How long do you intend to use it. How would you use it. With heavy, continuous use, you might get 2-3 hours. I always keep 4-5 batteries fully charged so I can pop a new one in on the fly. These batteries pictured don't fit Hero 3 either.

A:Smatree makes several GoPro accessories. This battery charger has three bays in it and comes with two extra capacity batteries. The charger is a smart charger and will only charge to the capacity the battery requires. I've used these on my Hero 4 with no issues so far.

A:Does the charger meet the requirements for power draw and delivery? Question is a bit vague. But another brand delivering the same power to the battery should charge ok. Check the data on the charger and then the battery to verify the charger will provide enough charging power or too much. Too much is bad.

A:As far as damaging batteries, no it doesn't, I no longer use the batteries it came with because 1 of 2 doesn't hold a charge. Maybe you will have better luck with them.

A:When you purchase this package you are all set up for charging anywhere. I comes with car charger and batteries don't have to be in the camera. You can just plug them in the charger.

A:this unit does not come with a power source except a USB connection to the charger power unit "not supplied". You would have to buy a AC charging unit that has the European adapter AC plug.
