I have used it without any problems for dozens of hours the last few weeks. You don't need the $70+ microSD cards that GoPro recommends. Their speeds are very fast, but overkill for the camera. I would be wary of buying cheaper cards than the one I listed though, because their write speed is too slow for the GoPro. But the Transcend card is perfect!I would buy a spare battery or two. They are $20 for the OEM or $10 3rd party. Most people have shown that 3rd party is similar in battery life, but sometimes they can last 5-15 minutes less depending on video mode. Personally I would shell the additional $10 to get the OEM but if you're on a budget the 3rd party batteries work just fine (Wasabi and Smatree are two of the major trusted 3rd party brands).As for accessories, you will need some mounts. Some mounts for sale: tripod mount to mount the GoPro to a tripod, Chest mount, Head mount, Pole mount, Car Suction Cup mount, etc. Do NOT buy the GoPro accessories for this unless you can afford it. They are almost 400% marked up. For example a Car mount if $39.99 from GoPro, but $10 from Smatree. A chest mount is $13 from Smatree and $39.99 from GoPro, etc, etc. I have all Smatree branded mounts and they are just as good as the GoPro mounts. A:I've now returned 5 GoPro units, each with equally poor sound quality with WiFi, but not when off.My conclusion, at least for the UK, is that all currently sold units have this issue. Incredibly disappointing and not quite as many comments about this on the Internet as I would expect.

That's really going to be useful for slow motion because you're going to use 60fps or slower for most shooting and in low light conditions. I have thought about upgrading to the Black but honestly the resolution is overkill. I've been able to do great slow motion at 720p120fps (25%) and 1080p60fps (50%). GoPro Studio 2.5 also has Flux which will help with slow-motion a lot (takes a long time to process though). I use the LCD screen a lot and I can't justify paying $100 for the resolution and not having a screen. I'm not making professional videos and most sites are going to compress your video anyways, so it's overkill. see less

A:Depends but most likely it last about 2 hours. You will find you need to buy more battaries. I would buy smatree's batteries, you get 2 and a charger for $20 and there's last longer then gooro's. Lastly, One gopro branded battery is $20.

A:You can zoom in with software, but they may be fuzzy. What I would recommend is shooting in 2.7k with Hero 4 Silver, or buying the Hero 4 Black and shooting in 4K. That way when you zoom in you will actually retain a lot of the sharpness (especially with 4k). A:For shaky hands, yes, this camera does a good job. When mounted to a bike, not so good; but I can't complain. Tip: shoot with a wide field of range, then use a more powerful editor to reduce any shake...the field will become more narrow as the shake is eliminated, but you end up with a cleaner shot.

A:In the waterproof box obviously is not good, but outside the a box or with the frame mount housing the sound is really good, don't need a external microphone.

USB 3.0 on the other hand delivers .90 Amps so it is almost as fast as a wall charger. A:What kind of SD card are you using? I had a similar problem when I didn't use one of the two recommended cards by GoPro. I then bought on Amazon the Lexar 633 64GB 95 MB/s card and have been fine since. You need a card with a speed of 95 MB/s for optimum performance.

A:It's good for videos, pictures, and has decent sound. If you want to go professional later than you will want an external mic that can be used on the GoPro via a 3.5 mm input so that will be good for you for now and later.

A:I would stick to the Silver Model for the convenience of the LCD display. I can understand from your question that the LCD could be the main reason of the current issue that is facing the Silver Model. Cost is always an issue and for so companies develop products positioning strategies related to spec-price benefits.
