A:It did not for me. What finally worked was Macrium Reflect (Free). The issue, I think, was that the partition on the old drive was larger than the new drive. Macrium knew how to deal with that, other solutions did not.

Many of the newer laptops use 7mm (e.g. Seagate Momentus Thin) hard drives. The computer manufacturer may (if necessary) have a hard drive "adapter" for a 7mm drive. see less

I know all good things will eventually come to an end but, by that time all the lap tops will make the new surfac pro laptop/table from Microsoft look like an "old piece of technology." Good luck, with cloud storage becoming the standard the 500 gig should be large enough.
