A:I agree, they're functionally the same. I will admit though that this plastic enclosure is probably not as strong as the metal one so drops may potentially break it. It works fine and hasn't been used much apart from a few weeks to run an OS off of but right now it's formatted

A:Not with the built-in encryption which only works on the drive level. You could use encryption software, such as VeraCrypt, to encrypt multiple-portions of the My Passport drive.

A:Its mentioned on the box that it is compatible with windows vista, 7 and 8. But I am using windows 10 os. I find no problem. So I guess it should be okay with windows xp too.

A:It is 5400 rpm. If you intend to use it for storing files, pictures, movies and etc, you should consider about it. Or if you want to run applications and concerning latency, then you should consider having 7200 rpm. Hope this helps.

A:I have not tried to format my two using FAT32, but there should be no reason not. Are you aware that Windows 8 and Windows 10 do not format FAT32 ? You will need a separate utility to do that.

A:Yes you can. It is pretty easy too. Once you plug it into a device it should ask you if you want to back up your files. You can do that or do it manually. You can put whatever you want on it and then transfer it to the other device.
