Q:how does it work with Time Warner?
A:This has worked very well with twc in Orange County, CA

Q:Does this have a security key on it?
A:Has WPA key on bottom tag. Has WPA/WPA2 wireless security. Also has Parental Control and Guest Network features.

Q:I have Xfinity blast will I have to call them to install this component?
A:Yes, you will. There are certain numbers they require off of the modem to connect you to their network.

Q:Is this the same modem router as the Netgear N450 CG3000Dv2?
A:Yes it is the same as CG3000Dv2 N450..http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/device.php?devid=395

Q:Will this device work with Time Warner Cable?
A:yes, that is who I have as my provider.

Q:so this is both a modem and router?
A:Yes, and WiFi router at that

Q:Will this modem work with time warner cable?
A:Yes it does. I'm on TWC and use this router - works fine.

Q:1. Is the USB port operational and supported via firmware to accommodate an external HDD so that I can access my HDD wirelessly? 2. Does the device support DL speeds upto 105mbps? 3. Is the device Xfinity compatible?
A:1 - Section 5 of the owner's manual is dedicated to attached usb storage devices. This is absolutely set up for HDD access from the wired/wireless network. 2. With DOCSIS 3.x, downstream throughput depends on the number of channels you have (check with your ISP). The spec for 4 channels is 171.52Mbits/sec. With DOCSIS 3.x, downstream throughput depends on the number of channels you have (check with your ISP). The spec for 4 channels is 171.52Mbits/sec. Your question is a bit odd because the spec states 42.88Mbits/sec per channel. So to achieve 105, you'd need at least 3 channels (the math comes out to 2.45 channels). The modem/router is certainly capable of reaching that speed, but you will need to talk to your ISP. 3. Yes it's on their approved list, but it's only received the minimum level of certification. See http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ - BZ see less

Q:Can you disconnect the Wi-Fi on this modem? I don't see a setting to turn off the radio. Is this possible?
A:It's the second button at the top on front of modem. From the manual: Pressing this button for two seconds turns the WiFi radio in the modem router on and off. If this LED is lit, the WiFi radio is on. If this LED is off, the WiFi radio is turned off and you cannot use WiFi to connect to the modem router.

Q:Does it work with RCN service?
A:I am assuming that RCN is a broadband service provider. This router works with any broadband coaxial connection.

Q:does it work with time warner
A:Yes

Q:I can now toss my Comcast xfinityy modem & router ?
A:You should double check with Comcast to ensure that you can use this product with your specific plan, but in general, yes! -- this router is designed to replace an existing cable modem or cable modem/router combination.

Q:Does this modem/router have 802.11ac WiFi?
A:This modem/router is an 802.11n dual band WiFi router, meaning it broadcasts across both the 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz spectrums. It does so separately, so you can connect both 802.11ac and 802.11n devices, or disable one of the antennas to use only one of those portions of the spectrum.

Q:does this work with Comcast
A:Yes it does (Xfinity)

Q:I have my internet through AT &T will this work? I don't see a phone line plug
A:Sorry, no. This is a DOCSIS cable modem, it is not compatible with DSL

Q:Is there a limit to the # of devices that can be connected? The ones from time warner had a maximum of 4 and we have so many more!
A:You can connect two ethernet devices. When I looked the matter of how many devices can be connected wirelessly, netgear FAQ pages said something to the effect there were no device limitations but only the tolerances of connectivity speed as they all try to access the internet at the same time.

Q:What is the warranty length?
A:Answer this question

Q:does it work with time warner
A:Yes

Q:does it have plug in?
A:Yes

Q:will this modem work with AT&T?
A:Hi Donald, this is a cable modem, and will not work with AT&T DSL.

Q:Does this modem come with warranty? I posted this questions like four times now and it keeps disappearing! That's very disappointing and annoying!!!
A:Hi Roopa, yes, this router comes with our standard warranty. You will be covered for 90 days with phone support and a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects with email support.

Q:Does this cable modem work with gnu/linux? I am using Ubuntu Linux and just wonder if this modem works out of the box with this OS.
A:Hi! I have not configured this router on a UNIX/Linux OS. System requirements on the box state that this router is UNIX and Linux compatible.

Q:Is this modem works in another country too?
A:No idea.. Please call Net gear support desk..

Q:Can i connect a router of my own? like an ac wifi router and get decent speeds?
A:I believe its both modem and router! I didn't use my own router! So im not sure by adding additional router u will get a higher speed or not!

Q:looks like this connects and takes the place of cable providers equipment. Is this correct?
A:That is correct. Unfortunately, I found out after the fact that our cable/internet provider does not allow 3rd party modems to connect to their server so we had to return it. I would advise checking with your particular company first!

Q:does this model act as a router and modem
A:Yes, it's both a cable modem and wireless router.

Q:Any issues with range? For say... a 2300 sqft two story house?
A:This works well in my home of 1400 sqft brick ranch. It is located in my finished basement. I get an excellent signal throughout my house and into my neighbors, across the street. I've not sought for a signal beyond this distance.

Q:does this modem work well with Comcast
A:Answer this question

Q:Does this have the wifi range to go across the home? Any issues with signal strength 4 rooms away? I'm in an average ranch home.

Q:Is there a separate switch for the power and the wifi?
A:Wi-Fi radio (on/off) is controlled by the set-up utility. It has no physical switch.

Q:Is it compatible with Windows 8?
A:Yes, a modem/router has nothing to do with an operating system and will work for all networkable devices.

Q:Is the wi fi speed 802.11 b or 802.11 n ? Thank you
A:802.11n

Q:wi fi doesn't work
A:You have to turn it on on the router. I am currently using the wifi being transmitted through the router to answer this question.

Q:Does it work (compatible) with Time Warner Cable?
A:Yes! It works great, so much better then the one provided by TWC.

Q:Can I use this as a modem only and have a separate router?
A:In short, yes -- it takes a bit of configuration, but you can configure the CG3000 to go into bridge mode and then connect a router to one of the RJ45 jacks on the back.

Q:Can this be mounted on a wall and remove the stand it looks like it comes with?
A:Yes, the stand is removable (with a screw) and can be wall mounted also.

Q:After installing modem, contacted my cable isp (entouch) they see it online, can ping the "cm mac", but modem never gets internet port ip. any advice?
A:Hi Manoy. I'm sorry as I am not able to answer that question. I only know that I'd contact the manufacturer next. They may have some idea. Maybe, check their site first to see if problem is addressed. It's likely happened to someone else. Best wishes.

Q:can this wifi be setup without a hardwire connection to a computer
A:I used a direct wired connection, however it may give you other options with the right IP address. I would recommend to simply look on-line at the manual and it will tell you if wired or wireless is required for set up.

Q:I have a netgear n300. It's wi-fi range is not very good. Would the netgear n450 be better? or how can I extend the range of the n300?
A:I also have netgear n300; what you need is a WiFi extender base on how big your house is, read the rang description from the extender then get one, it will help! Good luck, need more help let me know.

Q:Can I use a different router with this?
A:This device is both a router and a cable modem, so you don't need to use a separate router.

From reading the specs, there are two differences that I can see. The N600 is dual band, which means that there are two different frequencies connecting with your device. While this, in theory, can mean faster speeds, it requires that the other device also have the ability to receive on two bands at once. Many/most do not. The second is finding a 2nd good, stable, underutilized frequency to be found and used. The N450 is single channel, but offers a higher single-channel connection speed than the N600. Now the connections between your modem to your cable provider. Note that both the N450 and N600 (as are all modems) are limited by how fast your service provider can provide the data. In theory, they can handle ~300mbs down from the provider, but most people have connection speeds in the 25-50 mbs range. Comcast does offer a 105mbs speed, but again remember that this is bound by the weakest link. So while they may say 105mbs, many/most of the circuits they use cannot support that speed. Realistically, at a 50 mbs subscription speed, 25-35 mbs would be best case sustainable speed.Assuming that most of the data is to/from the network provider (Comcast, etc), either the N450 or N600 is overkill. I, personally, purchased the N450 because it was the newest device that Comcast has certified, and I wanted a device that would last for years and years. If you are one of those few people that have a lot of peer to peer connections (e. g. streaming from the Ipad to the TV), then either one of these is a solid fit but the N600 could be faster IF - and ONLY IF - both devices handle dual band connections. Again, most currently do not.Final thought - be sure that whatever device you get is certified to be used by your service provider. If it is not, don't buy it. Might be a great device, but it would only be a paperweight if your provided will not provision it. see less

A:There is a one year warranty on the hardware, and 90 days installation support.

Q:Is this the same as the netgear c3700-100nas?
